General Information

The MR Center of Excellence is an interdisciplinary platform for basic research and development of methods in the field of whole-body high-field MR (3 Tesla and 7 Tesla), covering morphological, functional and metabolic aspects. The main goals of MRCE are to perform cutting-edge research, to provide high-ranking academic education and to contribute to utilization of newly developed methods in clinically-oriented applications.

The 7 Tesla whole-body system with multinuclear capability is the current flagship of the MR Center of Excellence. The site in Vienna has the outstanding advantage to perform translational research with the opportunity to join a network of scientific collaborations in the Vienna General Hospital (AKH), one of the largest clinical research centers in Europe.
